  • God is moving! Keep praying...and Acting!

Okay friends and family. WE can make a difference!! Here are 11 things you andyou kids can do before the election to make a difference! OUR COUNTRY hangs inthe balance!! FIRST, FAST AND PRAY Sunday thru Tuesday! Christians all overAmerica are getting on their knees and praying!Top 11 Things You Can Do To Gain Control & Make a Difference inElection 20081. Call battleground states from home! Go to www.JohnMcCain. com. Enterthe site. On the right hand side you will see buttons that allow youto volunteer from HOME or WHEREVER you are right now! Press on "MakePhone Calls." You will hear a message from Senator McCain. Follow thedirections (I had to register, just adding in my name and email etc). The campaign will then give you an easy telephone script and a cycleof 40 names to call. Each new number has a screen that you quicklyfill out. Calls are simple and fast to make. You can do 40 calls, 5 ata time, throughout the day, or all at once. I did laundry, cookeddinner, and taught school while making calls. So far this week, I havebeen calling Missouri and Michigan – both battleground states and doneat least 40 calls a day.Tips for making phone calls:* Begin with prayer.* Have a drink ready.* Read and stick to the script.* Realize that with some callers, you will kind of stumble throughit – that is okay! They don't know you – go on with grace!* Call with a SMILE on your face.* Be bright, be brief and be gone!* Ask them for their VOTE (that is "closing the sale!")* Don't let nasty recipients get you down; you are calling foryour children and grandchildren.* Take on 40 a phone calls a day2. Allow your older teens and children to make 40 phone calls. Largerfamilies can rotate it through family members, so the phone is goingnon stop. Idea: while we adore our younger children – voters mightnot. Prayerfully use good judgment here. We love our kids and all oftheir triumphs – but voters may not find a child as charming as we do.3. Join the 72 Hour Program. Sign up athttp://www.johnmcca in.com/72hour/ by clicking on your state. If youlive near a battleground state, click on it too, if you would considercrossing the border to help!4. Find your LOCAL Republican headquarters at www.rnc.org andvolunteer in your state. Google it, call around your town or county tofind out where your election office is. Go down and volunteer. You can:* Make phone calls* Go door to door (in parties, supervising children!) and get thevote out* Stand with a McCain/Palin sign on busy corners at busy times(supervise kids and use wisdom)* Let the kids make their own signs "Homeschoolers for McCain""Learning Challenged Kids for Palin" etc.5. Give grace ~ the last few days of an election are crazy! They wantyour help, but may not get back to you in a way that makes you feelwanted. Realize that all McCain/Palin staffers, RNC folks are swampedand exhausted at the end of the campaign. They need you and want you –but may not be able to go out of their way to let you know. Thecompetition has a much better ground operation in place along withunlimited funds and people. The RNC is working twice as hard with afraction of the resources. BE AGGRESSIVE in finding the RNC. Go theextra yard to find them and be gracious when you do!! I cannotunderestimate the exhaustion they feel at this point of the game.6. Make goodies for a campaign office! Campaign offices scrape byhoping to make it to Election Day with enough toilet paper. There isno budget for bottled water, snacks, lunches, dinners, treats. Visityour local campaign office and determine what is needed, than take it.Have the kids make muffins and bring coffee in the morning, bring acrockpot of soup and sandwiches at lunch, make pizzas or finger foodsfor dinner. Bake brownies, cookies, cupcakes or treats. Take freshfruit and nuts, or veggies with dip and bring them down. Take icedtea, sodas, or drinks or buy readymade stuff. Pleas remember whateverserving items are needed for your snack – they probably won't havethem on hand! Commit to take a treat per day – or coordinate with yourhomeschool group to bring snacks in the AM, lunch, PM.7. Ask your local campaign office WHAT THEY NEED and do it! It mightbe pencils and paper, food, someone to clean the bathroom, orvolunteers! Be a servant this election.8. Volunteer in a battleground state! We live TN, but live an hourfrom NC and an hour from VA. TN is solidly in the red (although 30% ofthe evangelicals voted Democrat in the primaries) We are rotatingbetween these two battleground states and volunteering a day in one, aday in the next. Yes – this costs more gas and time (but hey – gas is$.20 cheaper PER gallon in one state, making my trips "free!") Thiselection is worth it!9. Send your testimony out on why you are voting Republican. Write aquick email and press send! What you say may make a difference in anundecided voter. From national security to religious freedom to theright to bear arms – what you say is important!10. Help this email go VIRAL! • Catching Pigs

A friend forwared this to me.  I think we all need to be polictically minded every election and go vote, otherwise we will lose so much.  Get out and make a difference!  Think, pray and vote!

A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government.

In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punchline.

The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn.

When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.

Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms -- just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!

In this 'very important' election year, listen closely to what the candidates are promising you !!  Just maybe you will be able to tell who is about to slam the gate on America.

'A government big enough to give you everything you want, is big enough to take away everything you have.  Thomas Jefferson
